Anna Windbigler
January 2, 1921 - December 3, 2014
Anna passed away peacefully December 3, 2014 in Auburn California.
Anna Ann was the daughter of John and wife Anna Lopes who lived in Santa Cruz, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Norvin Jack Windbigler and her son William F. Bushnell. Also brothers Antonio, Joseph, Theophilus, George and William.
In 1937 Ann married William Bushnell and moved to Garberville, California. They had two sons William F. and Robert J. Bushnell. Ann later moved to Fortuna and married Norvin D. (Jack) Windbigler. Together they had a daughter Jackie Ann.
Ann was a very ambitious woman. Her first job was at the old Ben Franklins Store. Then Kemps Nursery which is where she developed her skills as a gardener. This prepared her to become the Fortuna City Gardener. Her love of flowers was only second to going deer hunting with her husband Jack. During her career, Ann was also an active member of The Rebekah Lodge, The Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, Native Daughters of the Golden West and The Business and Professional Women.
Ann is survived by her son Robert F. Bushnell, daughter Jackie Ann Amos and son-in-law Stan: Daughter in-laws Kirstie Bushnell, Becky Kreutel, and Bev Windbigler. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stacy Windbigler, Kristin Windbigler, Wade Bushnell, Brenda May, Randy McCanless, Sherri Maytanes, Shannon Bush, Billy Jack Bushnell and Teashia Bushnell. Also 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a visitation Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Gobles Fortuna Mortuary, 560 12th Street, Fortuna, California. Funeral services will be Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM also at Gobles Mortuary, with interment following at Rohnerville IOOF Cemetery.
