Brenda Lee Grant

Brenda Lee Rider Grant passed away in Fortuna on October 3, 2013. She was born in San Diego, California on the 26th of November 1964. She moved to Fortuna when she was a small child where she was raised by her mother, Thelma Strieby Moseby and her grandparents, William and Edna Strieby.
She attended Fortuna schools and had just recently attended her 30 year class reunion of Fortuna High School. Soon after graduation she married Dallas Grant in the Baptist Church on the hill above Fortuna where she had attended Sunday school and Church since her arrival in Fortuna. In August of this year they celebrated their 30th year of marriage.
Brenda loved making a home for her family, she took care of it inside and out, always painting, cleaning, mowing, gardening, cooking holiday dinners, keeping the books for the family business, and taking care of all the other errands and duties that came along. She was a stay at home mom, taking in babysitting until her own boys were well established in school, then she started working for the Rohnerville School District in the cafeteria and worked there until her passing. She attended the Hydesville Church regularly, skipping occasionally to go the mountains with her family.
Brenda was a very loving and caring person and all who knew her loved her. We are really going to miss her. She is survived by her husband Dallas, her two sons Dustin and Dillion (Jessi) and very special granddaughter Emma; her mother Thelma and step-father Ralph Moseby; her sister Sandra Sheppherd and her husband T.R. and their 9 children and their families. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Bonnie Grant, her sister-in-law Tammi Grant, her grandmother-in-law Thelma Hoopes, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
