Charles Chas F. Hansen, Jr. peacefully passed away on September 17, 2013 from complications resulting from injuries sustained from a recent ATV accident. Charles was born in Scotia, CA on October 11, 1955 to Charles Hansen Sr. and Imogene Hansen.
Chas grew up on his family ranch and worked from the age of 5 in his family businesses. The Hansen family started the wire rope business in 1949 when Charles Sr. invented and obtained a patent on recoring the cable used in the Northern California, Southern Oregon logging industry. Chas was very proud of his father and lived his life working by his side. Chas bought the wire rope business from his dad in 1986 and was known to work from dawn until midnight 7 days a week. He later added Hansens recycling and the cattle business to his list of responsibilities after his dads death in 2009. Chas was well known for his kindness and generosity to all and was a stranger to no one. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Chas is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hansen and Imogene Hansen; his two twin nieces, Jill and Julie Hansen and his nephew Deryl Cale Sauers
He is survived by his wife Dianne Sauers Hansen; his 2 children Charles Hansen III and Krissten Hansen, whom he was so very proud of. Chas is also survived by his twin sister Charlene Priomofiore (Kevin); his brother and mentor Hans Hansen (Betty); his step brother Russell Mitchell (Trish); step son Shannon Sauers (Riann); brothers-in-law Brad Sauers (Barbara), David Sauers, Ronny Sauers (Dianna) and Danny Sauers; nieces Becky Toreson (Randy) and Natalie McCall (Josh); Nephew Justin Priomofiore (Samantha) and step grandchildren Gavin and Bailey Sauers.
There will be a celebration of life for Chas on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fortuna River Lodge, 1800 Riverwalk Drive, Fortuna, CA.
