Deanna Marie (Overbey) McCormack

Deanna was born December 24, 1965 in Fortuna California. She passed away April 3, 2014 at California Pacific Medical Center, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She has joined the rest of her loved ones in heaven. You and Dad have a good chat!

Deanna resided in the Fortuna area all her life, attending the local elementary schools and graduating from Fortuna High. Her thirty-year class reunion was coming up this summer. She will be there in Spirit.

Deanna worked as a Home Health Care provider for many years. After having back surgery, she was no longer able to do that kind of work. She went on to become a cashier, making many friends along the way.

Deanna enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard or walking on the river bar looking for that special rock or piece of driftwood. She had a green thumb and could make anything grow.

She was preceded in death by her father Harold Overbey, grandparents Gerald and Beth Overbey, Henry and Gladys Moore, and Dave and Mable McHaffie. She is survived by her mother Jan Overbey and very special daughter Jessica Elaine Overbey-Griffis of Fortuna; her sister Shari Richmond; and very special nieces Naysha, ShayLee, Shyann and special nephew Tristen, all of Washington state, cousins, too many to mention, aunts Kathy(Darrel), Bev and Uncle James all of Washington state. Deanna was Aunt Nan or Aunt Naners to numerous other young people. She is also survived by Michele Benbow, you were her adopted baby sister.

She had a heart of gold and was always trying to make something better for other people, was always willing to help in any way she could. She will be missed so very much. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
