Donny Joe Barber

Donny Joe Barber was born May 15, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas. He was called to rest February 28, 2014. Donny was the son of John and Ruby Allmon of Fortuna, Ca. He is survived by a sister Carolyn Del Fiorentino of Napa, Ca. and a younger brother Johnny Barber of Eureka, Ca. His children Eric Barber and Carolyn Lee reside in Hydesville, Ca. A son Jake Ingoglia lives in Arkansas. Five grandchildren follow. He was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews. Donny was preceded in death by his father Billy Joe Barber and his younger brother Bobby Barber. Donny spent his earlier years in Blue Lake and graduated from Arcata High school. His lifelong hobbies included painting, fishing, raising animals and his music. He always had a guitar close by. Family gatherings always included sing-a-longs, memories were made that will be forever treasured. Donny was known for his friendly spirit. He was always bringing home strays and people. Donny was so loved and will be greatly missed by his family. Arrangements are under the care of Goble’s Fortuna Mortuary, 560 12th St., Fortuna, Ca. where friends and family are invited to the viewing / visitation on Thursday March 6, 2014 from noon to 5:00 PM with a graveside service at Sunrise cemetery, 3315 Newburg Rd., Fortuna, Ca. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tom Colbert officiating. Pallbearers will be John Allmon, John Barber, Chester Allmon, Clarence Allmon, Derrick Markley and Kevin Cobb. Rest in peace Donny till the Lords call us together again.
