ELINOR B. EVANS June 14, 1941- February 2, 2015 Elinor "Nori" Evans passed away on February 2, 2015. Nori was born in Glendale, CA to Arthur and Ruth Wolfe. She had two elder siblings: Rae Ann & Linda. She attended school in Glendale, CA. She moved to Fortuna in 1975 to attend the nursing program at College of the Redwoods where she graduated in 1980. She worked primarily as an ER nurse at Redwood Memorial Hospital for 30+ years. Nori was very dedicated and passionate about providing great patient care. After her retirement, she continued to work as a volunteer at Redwood Memorial in the ER dept. She is survived by her two daughters Cheryl Turner and Ann Marie Evans-Santos, her niece Ariel Santos and elder sister Linda Scott. Nori was an amazing and prolific gardener who landscaped her plot of "heaven on earth" into a sanctuary of trees, shrubs, plants of numerous varieties along with a beautiful Koi pond. Additionally, she created a fruit orchard and vegetable garden where she and her beloved cat "Cheeky" and her chickens toiled in delight. Nori was a very charitable and generous person with her family and friends along with supporting the organizations: World Wild Life Fund, The Nature Conservancy and UNICEF. She had immense empathy for people and animals.
