Esther Anna Boozer was born on December 5, 1920 to Ferdinand and Rosa Goettman in Savage, Montana and died peacefully at home in Fortuna, CA on July 7, 2014. Her family made their way to Oregon and
Mom grew up in Falls City, OR and met our Dad, John Bud Boozer there when they were still in school. They had to wait 5 years to get married until they had enough money saved. After they got married they lived in a shack alongside the railroad tracks near Turner, OR in the middle of nowhere. I think all their families felt sorry for them, but they felt like they were in Paradise!
Mom and Dad were married for 67 years when Daddy died in 2009. They had a good life together and were the best parents ever. They had Paulines Sportswear in Fortuna for many years. Mom still lived in their home and our brother, Jim, lived there with her for the past few years, taking care of her and enriching her life and making it possible for her to stay there. He was our Angel.
Mom enjoyed going to the monthly luncheons at the Hydesville Church, always taking her Blueberry Delight, which everyone loved! She also enjoyed our lunches at Peppers, haunting the thrift stores, going to yard sales and pulling weedsoh, how she loved pulling weeds! Daddy always said she could pull weeds better than a billy goat!!
She had the best neighborsSteve & Susan, Darcie & Bob and Jeanna & Ken. They always watched out for her and helped beyond the call of duty whenever there was a problem. Also her friend, Walt Taylor, who passed away a few years ago.
Esther is survived by her children, Jim & Janice Boozer, Geri & Bob Murray, Betty Boozer and Jerry Carter and her grandchildren, Dana & Kristina Murray and Shania & Devin, Brian & Shanda Murray and Koby & Logan, Elizabeth & Ben Passanando and Christopher, and Dina Mitchell. Her niece and nephew, Darlene & Don Posedel and Don & Sharon Will. And her much loved kitty, Callie.
