Faye D. Riley entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 11, 2014. Faye was born June 27, 1931 to Louis and Phrona DeBoard in Mountain View, MO.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Wayne and Warren, twin brothers, Eldon and Weldon, her sister Anabell Brewer and one granddaughter. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Riley of Fortuna, CA; her daughter Lisa Losey (Mike) of Fortuna, CA and Robin Von Hoetzendorff (Mark) of Danville, CA; her sister Mildred Dutton of Canton, OH; Five grandchildren and spouses, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Faye graduated high school (1949) from the School of the Ozarks in Branson, MO. In 1951, she moved to Canton, OH to live with her sister and worked at Timken Roller Bearing Co. While working here, she met and married her love in November 1951 after six months of courting.
Faye has had a busy career working in grocery stores, North American Aviation (Downey, CA), roller bearing manufacturing (Canton, OH), Assistant Bookstore Manager for Humboldt State University (Arcata, CA), bookkeeper/office work for Canevari Timber Co. (Fortuna, CA) and health care/social work for the aged at St. Luke's Manor (Fortuna, CA)
Faye loved her church, life and being with people. She took pride in her community, volunteering in many ways to give back. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial service will be held May 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fortuna United Methodist Church, located at 10th and N Streets in Fortuna. Reception will follow at the Fortuna Monday Club, located at 6th and Main Streets.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Fortuna United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
