Hazel was born Jan 7, 1924 to John and Theadoshia Branton in Rattan, 0klahoma. She passed away in Eureka, Ca. on Jan 10, 2014. Hazel lived in Oklahoma until her and Jack moved to Humboldt County in 1952 to raise their family. They had 5 children. She worked for Redwood Memorial Hospital for many years retiring from there in the early 1980's.She was a member of The Fortuna Nazarene Church. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and knitting. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers, her husband Jack and a grandson Bruce Bardin. She is survived by her children, Rex (Phoebe) Bardin of Ferndale, Ca.; Pat Fox (Dave) of Hayden, Idaho; Delores Bardin, Cheshire, Ore.; Jackie Keller, Napa, Ca.; Linda Bardin, Fortuna, Ca. 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Dolly Frey and the wonderful staff at Fryes Care Home for the care they provided to Mom while she was there. Also we would like to thank Hospice of Humboldt for their assistance during the last few months.
Friends and family are invited to the funeral service for Hazel at Gobles Fortuna Mortuary, 560 12th Street, Fortuna, Ca on Wednesday January 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM with a reception following at Hazel's sons home at 370 Schley Ave, Ferndale, Ca.
