Jack Clemente Tipple Jr. On September 30, 2014, Jack passed away at the age of 87 and rejoined his beloved wife Lorene. Jack was born in Santa Cruz, CA on May 11, 1927 to Jack Sr. and Bernice Tipple. A lifelong resident of Ferndale, Jack graduated from Ferndale High School in 1945 and married Lorene Hackett on April 29th of the same year. Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the US Army and served in Europe. He was honorably discharged in December of 1947. Upon returning from the army he got his pilot's license, and began a love affair with planes and flying. He worked at Tipple Motors with his father from 1948 to 1981, then on his own until 1988. Jack and his father operated AAA Towing for decades throughout the Eel River Valley and Petrolia. After retiring he worked at Nilsen's where he could stay in touch with the goings on about town. In retirement Jack was always busy with hobbies such as flying, hanging out at the airport with his friend Oakley Giffin, woodworking, nurturing bonsai trees, and building model airplanes. Jack is survived by his children and their spouses Jack III and Helen Colgan, Jill and Lee Dedini, Joel and Lori Tipple, and Lynette Tipple; by his grandchildren Kim Elmore, Shiree Conklin, Jay Tipple Jr., Daniel Tipple, Erik Dedini, Nick Dedini, Laureen Savage; by his great-grandchildren Autumn, George, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Ashton, Karrie, Cynthia, Mei, Koko, Cairo, Jonah, and Talon; and by many dear friends.
