Services will be held Friday for James Edward Delaney, who passed away October 23, 1990 in Fortuna at the age of 56. He was a resident of Mad River.
Born and raised in Binger, Oklahoma, Mr. Delaney came to California in 1944. He had made his home in Trinity County and Mad River since 1960. He had owned and operated the Mad River Store & Bar for the past 23 years. He had worked for various lumber mills in California, Oregon, and Alaska. Mr. Delaney owned several race horses and was well known throughout the racing circuit.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Delaney of Mad River; Two sons David Delaney of Redding, and Steven Delaney of Mad River; Three step-children Terry Hill of Redding, Dennis McKitrick of Tenino, Washington, and Sherral Bridge of Ruth; Five brothers Ray Delaney of Hydesville, Chester Delaney of Santa Rosa, Fred Delaney of Santa Rosa, Ralph Delaney of Clear Lake, and David Delaney of Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and numberous other relatives.
Friends are invited to attend memorial services Friday, October 26, 1990 at 2:00 pm at Goble's Chapel Fortuna with Harold Wilkins officiating.
