James "Jim" Henry Jeffries

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Henry Jeffries, who left us peacefully on December 27, 2024, at the age of 73. Jim was a devoted believer in Christ, and his faith was an integral part of his life. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clementine Jeffries, and his sisters, Barbara Jeffries, Caroline Jeffries-Moreno, and Elizabeth Brown. He is survived by his devoted wife, Claudette Jeffries; his sisters, Nancy Havens, Susan Jeffries, and Denise Cordell; his children, Aaron Jeffries and wife Lauren, Rebecca Cook and husband Paul, Jeremiah Jeffries and wife Heather, Isaac Jeffries, Michael Jeffries and wife Tiffany, Michelle Jeffries and partner Tres; as well as 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, all of whom were the light of his life.

Jim was a retired employee of California State University of Bakersfield, where he spent many years contributing to the university community. He was a man who valued family above all else. His greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored and often enjoyed spoiling with love and attention. He was an avid camper and outdoorsman, always ready to embark on a new adventure. He was a storyteller with a great sense of humor and a love for debate, ready to engage in a lively discussion on any topic at a moment's notice.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Desert Memorial Park, located at 801 San Bernardino Blvd, Ridgecrest, CA 93555. A reception will follow at the home of his sister, Denise Cordell.

Additionally, a Celebration of Life will take place on January 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Corner Stone Baptist Church, located in Silver Springs, NV.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of laughter, love, faith, and adventure will live on through his family.
