Johnnie Allen Spain
Johnnie passed away at home on Sunday June 9, 2013. Johnnie was born in Butterfield, Missouri on July 7, 1947 to Walter and Wilma Spain. The family moved to Coulterville, California in 1962. There he met Virginia (Ginny) Henley and were married in 1965. Johnnie joined the Army and served in Korea for four years.
Johnnie was a big Steelers fan, a great fisherman and loved target shooting. After Korea Johnnie worked in Cloverdale at the sawmill then in Redcrest until it closed. He then moved to Rio Dell and worked as a guard for Palco.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his Father Walter Spain and Nephew Chris Spain. He is survived by his Mother Wilma Spain of Fortuna, Brother Melvin Spain of Eureka, Brother Wayne Spain of Ukiah, Brother Charlie Spain of San Francisco, Sister Nancy and her husband Wes Nally of Rio Dell, Niece Michelle Spain of Eureka, Nephew Walter and his wife Kelly Spain of Cloverdale, Nephew Robert Spain of Ukiah, Nephew Charlie Spain of Redding, Niece Candy of Missouri, Nephew Audy of Shelter Cove, Niece Sherry and her husband Adam Saler of Rio Dell, Niece Staci Bishop of Rio Dell, Nephew Justin and his wife Holly Nally of Rio Dell. Along with many great Nieces and Nephews.
Services for Johnnie will be held at Sunrise Cemetery, 3315 Newburg road, Fortuna, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday June 18, 2013.
