Lois Irene Thomsen

Lois Irene Thomsen Lois died on January 14, 2015 at age 98. Lois was born April 9, 1916 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Finis and Della Wiggins. In 1920 she moved to the Eureka area with her family where she attended the Adventist Academy in Eureka. She married Ervin Thomsen, a Loleta dairy rancher in 1934. Lois and Ervin ran a successful dairy adjacent to the Eel River. Lois enjoyed sewing and quilting. In their retirement they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome with their friends. When the historic Christmas Flood of 1955 hit the Eel River, their dairy was completely decimated by the floodwaters. Lois tackled this challenge with grace and courage. A few years later, she began hosting home decorating shows for Home Interiors Inc., and her new career was immensely successful. She became the Regional Sales Director for Northern California and earned many sales awards from the company. She is survived by her children Donna Hawes of Fresno, Lane Thomsen D.D.S. of Loleta, Lana Dee Grigsbee of Berkley Springs, WV and Greg Thomsen of Albany, OR, 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Her husband Ervin Thomsen, her parents, her sister Agnes Della Graeffe and her brother Finis E Wiggins, Jr M.D, preceded her in death. A Memorial celebrating Lois' life will be held in the future, with details to be announced.
