...and we heard the rush of angels wings and they took her to be with them for there was a need for more love in heaven. Marian Patricia Hastings went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2013.
Marian was born in Fortuna, California to Edmund and Catherine Smith on April 10,1927. She graduated from Fortuna Union High School in 1945. After high school Marian attended Santa Rosa Community College where she studied business administration. Marian returned to Humboldt county following community college and went to work for Dr. Wallace in Eureka.

While raising her three children, Marian went to work for St. Luke Manor where she was the office manager until she retired.
Following retirement, Bob and Marian found much enjoyment traveling in their trailer throughout the United States. Following Bob's death, Marian continued traveling in Canada and the northwest, visiting children and relatives. Marian was a child of summer, enjoying working on sunny days in her yard and garden and working jig-saw puzzles by the fire on cold Humboldt evenings watching Judge Judy and enjoying her favorite black bird. She was also an avid college basketball fan and loved filling out her March Madness brackets competing against the family.
Marian was a member of St. Joseph Parrish in Fortuna California.
