Martha M Hoffmann

MARTHA M. HOFFMANN Martha M. Hoffmann, local philanthropist and resident of Fortuna, passed away peacefully in her home on January 3, 2016, just shy of her 95th birthday. Martha was predeceased by her husband, William Hoffmann, daughter, Deborah Hoffmann, and dear friend and neighbor, Margaret Harris. Among those surviving Martha are her loyal friend, Jean Lapietra of Eureka; devoted neighbor, Dan Harris; many good friends in the African Violet Society; and Heidi, her beloved toy poodle. The Hoffmanns, though very private people, gave generously to the community they loved. Sincere appreciation is extended to Dr. Stephanie Dittmer, MD and her team at Humboldt Medical Group for truly exceptional care of Martha over the years, and to Elite Caregivers and Hospice of Humboldt for their care and compassion when Martha needed them most.
