Marty is survived by her devoted husband Larry, immediate family and many friends. Marty peacefully passed away from a lengthy illness at Stanford University Hospital in the arms of her husbands loving embrace into the arms of her waiting Lord Jesus Christ. Marty was born in Louisiana, and moved to Southern California where she met Larry, the love of her life. They moved to Humboldt County in 1980, making their home on top of a beautiful mountain between Bridgeville and Dinsmore California. Marty was a hardworking homemaker, she loved gardening and growing her own vegetables for canning. She also had many pets that she loved and cared for, you could always see a furry friend following her around the house or yard. Marty also loved taking pictures and writing poems. She will always be remembered for her warm, welcoming smile and her free spirit. Marty faced death just as she had lived with courage, grace, love for her family and friends and faith in God. Martys life journey ended quietly, yet her inner and outer beauty will always shine brilliantly from above.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Gobles Fortuna Mortuary, 560 12th Street, Fortuna, Ca.
