Martha Louise Womack

Martha Womack was called home to be with the Lord on 5-10-16. Martha was born to Sherman and Anna Lynch on 8-8-1926 in Spartenberg, SC. Her family moved to Ajo, AZ after WW1 where she was raised and attended school. Her family moved again in 1948 to Bakersfield, CA where she met her husband Bill Womack. They had two children Carolyn and Gene. She divorced in 1953, put herself through college and taught elementary school for 28 years. She was a strong, independent and loving mother that will me missed by her family. She is survived by her two children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. After retirement, she volunteered to work at her church and was very active in the Christian Community.

And a cure was not to be.

And he whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you,
We watched you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He chose to take the best.
