Mary Irene Trutalli-Silveira

MARY TRUTALLI SILVEIRA
Mary was born on the island of Terceira, Azores on Sept. 25, 1922. She came to this area as an infant with her parents, Manuel and Maria Soares. Mary lived in Ferndale where she and William Trutalli had a dairy for forty years. She was known for her wonderful cooking skills and especially for her delicious Butter Cookies. "Nammie", as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and many others, passed away on Feb. 15, 2014 at the age of 91. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Alexandre and her son, David Trutalli (Sandy) all of Ferndale, Grandchildren Renae Alameda (Frank),
Ferndale; Blake Alexandre (Stephanie), Crescent City; Kriss Lewis (Will), Fortuna and Darin Trutalli (Marcy) of Winchester, Great Grandchildren
Justin, Makenzie, Hunter, Joseph, Christian, Vanessa, Dalton, Savanna, Natalie, James and her Great, Great Grandson, Caden. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Lopes of Gridley; many nieces and nephews and her former daughter-in-law, Shaaron Cardoza.
Mary was active in many Portuguese Lodges and was always ready to help when needed. She loved to travel and always enjoyed going out to lunch. Every member of her family has a beautiful afghan crocheted by "Nammie", as this was her special gift made with much love. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Soares; her adoptive parents, Mateus and Maria Deniz; her second husband, Lino Silveira, her sister, Sara Soares; her brother, Manuel Soares; a great grandson, Jace Alameda, the father of her children, William Trutalli and her son-in-law, Joe Alexandre. Pall Bearers are: Darin Trutalli, Blake Alexandre, Joseph Alexandre, Christian Alexandre, Dalton Alexandre and Justin Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are: Frank Bodrini and Will Saltekoff. The family would like to thank the staff at Sequoia Springs and at the Fortuna Rehabilitation and Wellness Center for all their kindness and professional care, along with special appreciation to Dr. Stephanie Dittmer. Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Gobles Fortuna Mortuary, 560 12th Street, Fortuna, California. A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Assumption Catholic Church in Ferndale, California, with a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM also at Assumption Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the care of Gobles Fortuna Mortuary.
