MELBA INEZ JONES Melba Inez Jones passed away at her home in Etna, California on July 19, 2016 at the age of 68. Melba was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on June 21, 1948 and lived in Humboldt County for 67 years. Melba was a beautician for over 50 years before moving with her husband Jack to Etna just a few months ago. Melba is survived by her husband Jack Jones Sr., son Jack Jones Jr., son Jay Jones and daughter Wendy Inez Bianco, sisters June Milton, Sue Erickson, and Maryland (Dale) Perry. She has eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Melba was preceded in death by her parents Etsel Ward and Gracie Inez Prater Ward. Melba attended Scotia Elementary school, Fortuna Union High school, beauty colleges in Los Angeles and in Eureka, California. Melba was devoted Christian wife and mother who loved God, loved to read the bible and pray for others. Most of all she loved her grandchildren. She attended the Rio Dell Assembly of God (The Journey) church for many years. Friends and family are invited to services for Melba at the Fortuna River Lodge at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. There will be visitation at the River Lodge from 10:00 until 11:00 AM preceding the service. Melba will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the care of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary.
