Richard (Richie) Dale Fraser 91, son of Sandy Albert and Mary Pearl Fraser passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Fortuna, Ca.
Richard was born March 31,1924 in Hydesville, Ca. were he resided until his passing. Richard never married and is survived by his nephews and nieces Sandy Fraser, Robert, Sandy and Randy Church, Donna Tabor, Mary Anderson, Judy Ramsland, Lisa Campbell, Scott Fraser and Kathleen Fraser, his sister-in-law Charlotte Fraser. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Robert, Donald Ernest Fraser and Margaret (Nonie) Lee. Nephews George Fraser, Donald and David Church. Richard graduated in 1942 from Fortuna Union High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and honorable discharged in 1946. During his enlistment he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was awarded many decorations and citations including Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal, Philippine Liberation ribbon with 1 BS, WWII Victory medal TWD WD and Good Conduct medal. After his military service Richard worked at Pacific Lumber until his retirement. He was an active Volunteer Fireman for Hydesville Fire Dept. for over 20 yrs. At Richards request there will be no service. Donation may be made to Hospice of Humboldt or Hydesville Volunteer Fire Dept., Arrangements under the care of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, Fortuna, Ca.
