Surrounded by her family, Sharon Frances Stockton passed away peacefully at her home due to complications from Parkinsons disease. She was 73. Sharon was born in Purdy, Missouri on May 10, 1943 to Maynard and Betty Vanderpool. The family moved to Redding, California and she graduated from Shasta High School and subsequently attended Shasta Junior College. There she met her future husband David.
Sharon returned to school and graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in English. She worked at several county and state agencies before retiring in 1998. She was an avid quilter, played the violin, and enjoyed watching the San Francisco Giants and 49ers.
Sharon is survived by her husband David, her brother Gary, her daughter Melissa and her wife Terry, her son Dave and his wife Lily, her niece Becky and her husband Joey, her nephew Tom and his wife Karly, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend the service at 11:00 AM Friday, February 10 at Gobles in Fortuna.
