William "Bill" Arthur Etter passed on January 11, 2015. Born in Fresno on September 14, 1942 he moved to the Mattole area in the late 1940's. After graduating from Ferndale High School in 1960, he attended Principia College and Humboldt State where he graduated with a BA in history and later earned a secondary teaching credential. Bill served as a member of the Army Reserves and National Guard. In 1971 he started Etter's Victorian Glass where he specialized in picture framing and antique furniture restoration. For the last 22 years he enjoyed working alongside Lee Astorino. Always committed to his community, he was elected to the Ferndale City Council and served as the city's representative on the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission for ten years. A devoted runner, who once maintained a running streak of 11,608 consecutive days, Bill also completed 18 marathons. He then turned his passion for physical activity to cycling. He participated in running and cycling events and car shows throughout the state. His unfailing love will always be treasured by his wife Cheryl, his son Bill, his daughter-in-law Tracy and his grandchildren Charlie, Henry and Claire. Bill would have been honored by any donation made in his name to the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department. Private arrangements are under the care of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/times-standard/obituary.aspxn=william-arthur-etter-bill&pid=173893827&fhid=18280#sthash.1NRnKrtS.dpuf
